From our workshop to Molino Scodellino
We are thrilled and proud to announce an exceptional artistic event that will see us as protagonists in Romagna throughout the summer. From May 30 to September 7, 2026, the fascinating historic spaces of Molino Scodellino in Castel Bolognese (RA) will host “Presenze Terrestri” (“Terrestrial Presences”), the solo exhibition of Roberto Perino, master ceramicist and sculptor. The exhibition, curated by Gianfranco Budini, is organized by the Associazione Amici del Molino Scodellino in close collaboration with us at La Castellamonte.
The official inauguration will take place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at 4:30 PM.
The Indissoluble Bond Between Art and High Craftsmanship
For our workshop, this is a special opportunity to celebrate the deep connection that unites artisanal production with pure art. As beautifully highlighted by Matteo Zauli (Director of the Carlo Zauli Museum in Faenza) in the exhibition’s critical text, Roberto Perino “lives his role as an artist-artisan with absolute serenity and fullness,” pursuing two fields that do not exclude each other but rather enrich one another. After all, our stoves and his sculptures emerge from the same fire, the same hands, and the same poetics linked to earth and memory.
Precisely to bear witness to this total consistency, our company will actively participate in the event by exhibiting 5 La Castellamonte ceramic stoves inside the mill, selected from our classic and modern models (Stack Stoves by Adriano Design). These historic, ultra-high-quality creations will blend among the wood, iron, and ancient mechanisms of the mill, showing the public how Piedmontese design and ceramic tradition can beautifully dialogue with Romagna’s industrial archaeology.
The Exhibition Path: Emotional Sculptures Inhabiting the Space
Alongside the warmth and design of our stoves, the exhibition will be dominated by Roberto’s imposing and majestic sculptural works. Monumental totemic figures up to two meters tall, cosmic spheres, and clay works will transform the mill into a living and unexpected landscape. These are not mere decorative objects designed to spruce up a corner, but true “presences” born to inhabit the space and forge an intimate relationship with the observer.
The surfaces of these grand works tell the entire journey of the clay: starting from earthy, wrinkled, and deeply rooted bases, the forms twist upward to reach peaks glazed in blue, green, and white, where fire acts as an accomplice to seal every contrast. This restless material is nevertheless endowed with an absolute stillness, which critic Rolando Deval defined in a memorable phrase as “choreographic immobility” (“coreutica immobilità”), and which Giovanni Cordero describes as “emotional sculptures” capable of communicating and questioning.
We are convinced that the authentic atmosphere of Molino Scodellino, with the water flowing nearby and the natural light changing hour by hour, provides the ideal context to let these works breathe. We invite you to visit us and walk slowly through this exhibition, perhaps returning several times to discover how the sculptures change along with the light and the turning of the seasons.
