All decorations on our stoves have always been made by hand, by expert decorators, with Colours or metallic paints, and applied following the frieze of the stove’s ceramics or on smooth surfaces, to further enrich the stove’s aesthetics.
Decorations with Colour
Decorations with Colours can only be done on light bases, for example white, cream or celadon, either glossy or matte: during the second firing, the glaze, which is glass-based, melts and acquires its transparency, allowing the decoration to emerge and fix itself on the ceramic surface.
The characteristics of the decorations, Colours and design, are agreed with the customer, who will be free to choose from our classic proposals or provide his own design, further customizing the product.
Decorations with metallic paints
Decorations with metallic paints, real gold and real platinum in glaze solution, unlike color, are applied by “third firing” i.e., after glazing and with a third step in the kiln.
For optimal performance, these decorations are applied only to certain glazes, for example, those with a light base, reds and some blues.
During firing, the decoration blends with the glazed surface acquiring its finish: it will look glossy if applied on glossy glazes and, likewise, it will become matte if combined with a matte glaze.
